" Our Actions and Inaction's Towards Positive Change"

The prevention of crimes and violence in our schools and communities recall a basic truth that every man has right to peace and security. Peace and lasting security should always be the persistent objective of any government and her citizens. In the last five decades the world has recorded a tremendous progress in its developmental advancement in Science and Technology and other innovations in various fields more than it has experienced during the entire human history, previous to this time. Through Science and Technology our societies have benefited great and sophisticated transformation thus, the world is now called a global village.
However, all these advancements recorded by Science and Technology, the world are today confronted with a unique challenges as never experienced before. Just as great pace of development is experienced in all aspects of life, so also the inexplicable explosion of crimes is encountered in our society on daily basis. The most appalling, being that quite often these crimes are perpetuated by youth (young people).
In Nigeria today and several parts of the world, it is no longer new to hear about incidences of crimes like; rape, cases of armed robbery, fighting, pick pocketing, stealing, dangerous driving, driving without license, sexual abuses (homosexual, lesbianism, unprotected sex) illicit dressing, internet frauds, corruption of all kinds, smoking among the teens, exam malpractices, cultism, to mention but a few crimes and violent acts predominate with young people in the world today.
In a bid to correct all these unpleasant, indiscriminate and ugly trends of misnomer in our society, you as a young person should be poised in educating and sensitizing the mindset of youth on the need for a crime free, drug free and violence free society conducive for learning and living, engage in values and leadership skills programmes, encourage and support individuals with moral courage and create a positive change in your community/immediate environment. The change you need is within you, the time for change is now, we can do it, yes we can but it begins with you.
